Saturday's DeafYoga Class at YMCA

Due to low attendance, the Saturday, 12:00 DeafYoga class at the YMCA has been cancelled.

Deaf students are welcome and encouraged to attend the regular yoga classes I teach at the YMCA but please understand the classes are voiced, I will sign as well.

I teach a 10:30 am yoga class on saturdays that is alot of fun!  Also, Tuesdays 10:30am and Wednesdays at 10:45am.

Keep watch for yoga workshops that will be offered at the Scottsdale/PV YMCA sometime this fall.  The workshops will be to teach the foundations of the yoga poses, and will touch on various yoga history.  Workshops will be approx 3 hours long.

Thanks to those of you that came and supported the DeafYoga class....I appreciate it and look forward to seeing you all soon!

Namaste.

Attention students

I recently had a discussion with my boss at the YMCA and was told that if the attendance is not consistantly in the double digits....meaning 10 students or more, then our Deaf Yoga class will be cancelled!!  Yikes!   Based on my conversation with her we have a couple of weeks to show her we want to keep the class going.  So please try to make class on a regular basis.

The good news, if the class does get cancelled permanetly, I will be able to have quarterly classes/workshops instead.  I will keep you posted as things unfold.

Hope to see you all in class this coming saturday at 12:00 sharp.

Namaste Smile

April 24th

FYI....Classes (Y4A and DeafYoga) will be cancelled fro the day only on Saturday, April 24th in lieu of Healthy Kids Day at the Scottsdale YMCA.  Classes will resume at their regular times on Saturday, May 1.  I apologize for any inconveneince.  Thank you for your understanding!  Namaste.....remember to breathe.

Become the change you want to see in the World!

Setting your Intention

Greetings!  I am a huge believer in that we can create our own journey.  I always say to my friends, family, students (and myself)..."what we think, we create...so think GREAT!"   Be aware of the energy you are creating in each given moment.

Our feelings create thoughts, thoughts create action (many times re-action) and actions ripple out into the world and then back to us.  So start each morning by setting your intention for the day.   It may be something you would like to see manifest in your life, a new attitude; a new endeavor you want to create; a new spiritual awakening!  A great DVD to watch(also in book form) is The Secret...awesome!

Throughout your day monitor your thoughts, words and actions.  Create an attitude of gratitude and see what the universe reflects back to you.

Let's all become the change we would like to see in the world!  Practice our yoga in our daily moments....breathe in breathe out. Smile

Namaste!

Yoga Day USA for the Deaf

Yoga Day USA was held today at the Scottsdale/PV YMCA and there was fun had by all, including myself!  The Yoga 4 Athletes class was packed.

Today marked the kick off of the newest class being held at the Scottsdale/PV YMCA...Yoga for Deaf!  This was a huge success with many students traveling from the east and west side of town to attend.  Due to the positive feedback, this class is now a permanet ongoing class for the Deaf and hard of hearing!  I am so excited to be able to combine two of my passions, yoga and sign language.  Thank you to all the students that attended today, I am so grateful to you for allowing me to share my yoga journey with you all.

A shout out to my sistafriend and teacher, Michelle, thank you GF for your support and patience over the years (she was one of my ASL teachers and is truely a rockstar!)....I am blessed.

"Happiness is not a destination, it is the attitude we choose to travel with!"

Namaste :)

Yoga Day USA January 23, 2010

Yoga day USA January 23, 2010

This month it is Yoga Day USA!  I am holding a special yoga class for the Deaf at the Scottsdale/PV YMCA.  Cost is $10 per person for the 1 hour class.  What a great way to start out the New Year and reconnect with your innerself.

Yoga is a wonderful way to calm the mind, body and reconnect with our spirit and higher power.

Let us all set our intentions for the New Year and BECOME the change we wish to see in the world!

Many blessings....Namaste...OM

Namaste

I honor the place in you
in which the entire Universe dwells,

I honor the place in you
which is of Love, of Truth, of Light and of Peace,

When you are in that place in you,
and I am in that place in me,
we are One.

-Namaste above by Deepak Chopra

Namaste is an Indian expression used as a greeting or upon parting, by putting the palms of the hands together in prayer position. It means, “I honor the Spirit in you which is also in me.”

This, of course, is also a way of saying, “I recognize that we are all equal.”
